Wedding Wednesday: Can We Get Married at the Mall?

Is it not totally fitting for a style blogger to have a wedding reception at a restaurant in one of the best malls ever?

Now,  I'm not saying I chose Maggiano's because it was in Fashion Show Mall, but the location certainly didn't hurt!

Our Hummer driver dropped us off at the entrance to TopShop, which was just perfect for some in-store shots.

Hmm, does plaid go with tulle?

Why can't my hair look like this every day?

By the time we walked through the mall to the restaurant, my dress had very effectively swept the floor, complete with straw wrappers, napkins, and several plastic utensils hiding underneath. Ugh.

Wedding Wednesday: Faux Paris

Vegas is a pretty amazing place to have wedding photos taken as you have so many different backgrounds to choose from. I was so glad we were able to visit Paris just as the sun was setting.

One of my favourites. I love the lighting!

I want this chandelier for my closet.

Wedding Wednesday: Planet Hollywood

One of our last stops on the wedding photo tour was Planet Hollywood. I was determined to get my photo with Britney (haha) and our photographer said this was the place where we'd likely be able to get some fake gambling shots.

Photobombs are almost always a given in Vegas...

What a fun concert!

Check out the scene on the left...

By this point, our feet were pretty sore. Yes, we had a driver, but a stretch Hummer can't exactly park easily so we still had to do a lot of walking!

Next stop... Paris!

Wedding Wednesday: The Sign

The next stop on the wedding day photo tour was the famous Las Vegas sign. I had no idea the sign would be so busy. We were only there for about 15 minutes, but in that span of time, we saw three other wedding parties! Good thing our photographer wasn't shy to ask people to kindly not photobomb us too badly. It's very hard for sign shots to have no one in the background.

My favourite!

Feeling outnumbered here...

Wedding Wednesday: The Hummer and the Cosmo

Of all the days in your life to justify renting a 14 passenger stretch Hummer ... wedding day wins. It was so hard to get in and out of in heels and a long dress! After a few tries we discovered it was much easier if R just lifted me out!

R trying his best to avoid me becoming "the bride who was eaten by the escalator".
The Cosmo chandelier was one of the places I really wanted a photo at. It's so pretty! We went back a few nights later for a drink at the bar with friends - such a cool spot to hang out.

Cheers to an amazing day

Next stop was the Las Vegas sign - I'll share those photos next time!

Wedding Wednesday: Around Caesar's

We've been married for over three months now! I'm trickling the photos out, but the long process is actually nice - makes for more time to relive the memories!

Caesar's Palace has a lot of nice spots for wedding photos. If a couple decided not to do a photo tour of the strip, there were certainly lots of options right on site. We had about a half hour between the end of our time in the garden and when our limo was meeting us to take us on the photo tour.

Taking the plunge!

We appreciated the moments we got to sit down!

Next time I'll post on our transportation for the day and the first bit of our photo tour.

Wedding Wednesday: Photos in Juno Garden

After our long and drawn out ceremony (just kidding, it was nine minutes and perfect!) it was a great relief to feel like the more formal part of the day was done. We had Juno Garden at Caesar's Palace for a very short time - about a half hour after the ceremony - so we had to be pretty quick at getting the photos done.

With my mom and dad

With R's mom and dad
We were incredibly lucky to have so many family and friends be able to join us. In total we had 60 guests from all over Canada and the States.  There were many important people who couldn't be there, but we tried to focus on the fact that we had a really great turn out for a destination wedding, and our guests got along so well!

Happily ever after.

Coming up in the next few weeks will be photos from our limo tour of various spots on the Vegas strip and the reception. Check out my earlier posts on the ceremony, getting ready, and the walk to the garden.

Wedding Wednesday: Caesar's Palace Ceremony

The ceremony at Juno Garden, Caesar's Palace was exactly as I pictured it to be. It was a quiet garden tucked away in the corner of the pool area. The white stone benches, tall trees, pillars, and greenery were spectacular. For a destination wedding with absolutely no decorations, I think it looked fantastic!

We decided to come down the aisle to Capital Cities' "Safe and Sound" which is a song we both like, is fairly current, and upbeat. I knew if I walked down to Canon D or some other traditional song, I'd probably cry!

My maid of honour Erin wearing all Le Chateau.

The only time all day I was a bit nervous was right before my dad and I walked down the aisle. Erin left ahead of us, and once she was gone, I was a bit scared to go out in front of all those people.

Funny thing is, before the wedding I could easily get teary thinking about the emotions of the day, but once the day was finally upon us, I was too happy and excited to even think about crying!

My lips and my bouquet matched. That may have been on purpose...

Our officiant JJ  looked like a soap opera star, which added to the surrealness of the whole thing. My favourite thing he said was that marriage is a workshop. The man will work, the wife will shop. How did he know?!

Officially Mr and Mrs!

R's suit, shirt and tie were Le Chateau. His shoes were Aldo. His hat was from Chapel Hats in Las Vegas.
My dress was Pronovias from Chester & Felicity

Our recessional was Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close". Totally non-traditional, but again, another song that makes us happy and excited!

As 2014 comes to a close, I am so grateful to have had the fortune to find a partner as fabulous as R. We mean the world to each other and are looking forward to a happy 2015. Thanks for reading my post on the happiest day ever!
